Be Successful By Doing The Alternative : ProductivityJunkies.comLate today with the email, I know…

I did the Coaching call with the Members of PJ’s Monthly Insider…

Are you a member yet?

We chatted about the content I gave them. The copy and how to target for a facebook ad that  is bringing a bunch of Seller Leads for the people implementing it.

How much is  bunch of leads?

  • 26 Seller Leads for one…
  • 6 for another…
  • 8 for my wife at the time of the call, but another just came in…

And then, I filmed a new video for the Simple Biz Plan… I haven’t updated it in 4 years. And I’ve actually made it even more simple.

These are my excuses for the late email arrival…

So, back to you and Batman.

Yes, I’m seriously sticking with that theme (wait until you see how I make the jump from Batman to Star Trek, it’s going to be epic).

So I’m obsessing over Batman right now, but you know who is out in the theaters right now?

Superman.

I’m not that interested in Superman… All of his powers make him kinda unfun.

But Batman, he doesn’t have any super powers.

He’s not an alien from another planet. He doesn’t have any mutant gene. He didn’t get into an accident with gamma radiation or a magical spider.

He’s just a dude that is smart, tough and uses his resources really well.

Batman is basically the alternative to Superman.

Superman has all sorts of powers.

Batman has none.

Superman is an alien.

Batman is just human.

Superman can fly.

Batman has to drive a car.

Superman doesn’t wear a mask.

Batman does wear a mask.

I feel you can do the same in your business. Become the alternative version of what’s going on out there.

I’ve read that Sam Walton once said, ”Swim upstream. Go the other way. Ignore the conventional wisdom. If everybody is doing it one way, there’s a good chance you can find your niche by going exactly in the opposite direction.”

A lot of coaches and trainers teach how to make prospecting calls… how to do presentations… how to handle objections… scripts to use… etc…

There is nothing wrong with this at all… but what if you took the alternative approach? What if you became “Batman” instead of trying to be “Superman”? And that’s more the style I coach and train.

Create really compelling direct response marketing… develop copywriting skills… get good at email marketing… develop reports, whitepapers and video marketing that informs, educates, informs and entertains…

My alternative philosophy is if you do things that way… you don’t have to handle all the objections… you don’t have to master 20 different closing techniques… you don’t have to develop the super power of handling rejection for 3 hours a day…

Plus, you can be seen more as a resource vs a salesperson.

I look at my wife. Katherine has never made an expired or FSBO call in her life, yet has generated 15 Seller Leads in the last 45 days via direct mail and facebook ads.

She might not be a “Superman”, that’s ok.

Because she is the alternative, like “Batman”.

Which character are you going to be in your business?

P.S. If you want  help either developing your super powers or creating the alternative skills you need in your business, let’s talk.

Just email me back and say you’re interested in learning more about working with me.

To RISE, Let The Fear Find You

In the movie The Dark Knight Rises, Bruce Wayne finds himself in a prison underground.

The villain Bane, put him there after he kicked Bruce Waynes butt in a fight. This is a prison that Bane had allegedly been in.

Bruce works on trying to escape.

First by working out and building his body back up after having his back broke in the fight with Bane.

This confuses a couple of prisionsers. They ask, “Why do you build your body back up?”

Bruce says, “to make the jump.”

One prisioner responds, “Survival is the spirit. The soul.”

Bruce ignores them and keeps working out and attempting to escape.

The only way to escape the prison is to climb the wall. Then at a certain point, you must make a long leap to grasp a piece of the wall. If you don’t make this jump, you would surely fall to your death.

So, to make sure he doesn’t fall, in case he can’t make the jump, Bruce ties a rope around his waste, to catch him.

This happens over and over again. Bruce coming up short on the jump, the rope he is tied to, saving his life.

Finally one night the prisoner says to Bruce…

Prisoner: You do not fear death. You think this makes you strong. It makes you weak.

Bruce: Why?

Prisoner: How can you move faster than possible, fight longer than possible without the most powerful impulses of the spirit: the fear of death.

Bruce: I do fear death. I fear dying here, while my city burns, and there’s no one there to save it.

Prisoner: Then make the climb.

Bruce: How?

Prisoner: As the child did. Without the rope. Then fear will find you again.

My favorite part, the next morning Bruce is packing supplies, water, food into a blanket. He climbs the wall, but this time… No rope to save him.

Fear does not need to be absent of confidence.

Take 3 minutes and 57 seconds to watch this scene…
