I am too often hearing about how tough the real estate market is.
I keep hearing about short sales, REO’s.
How buyers won’t get off the fence. How sellers aren’t reasonable about their price.
I can appreciate that there would be limiting beliefs, doubts and fears about growing a successful real estate business right now.
But there is always another side to the coin.
I also see, hear and work with real estate agents in my coaching that are having great success in their business.
On Friday I asked on my Productivity Junkies Facebook Page to share with some stories of success.
Levi Stearns, of the A List Realty Group shared,
Crushing It!! With the 1-2-1 Darin’s productivity system! I just went on three appointments today, 6 for the week and already have three more to start next week. I have always prospected, but now I do it with purpose. Thanks Darin!
Thanks for sharing Levi!
Carol Farrar sells real estate in North County San Diego shared,
Got my listing into escrow, picked up a new buyer & met with a prospect today. Have 3 appts set for next week.
These are just a couple of success stories that I share with you, that I hear from my real estate coaching clients all the time. What kind of stories are you hearing?
I feel strongly that a key indicator to success involves your mindset and your environment. I believe it is much easier to control your environment than it is to try to be disciplined.
Look at your environment though. Are you fighting a losing battle?
For example, you decided to change your mindset. You are going to focus on the positive. You are going to decide that you are not a victim of the real estate market. You control your own market. You start reading books like Crush It! in the morning. You start doing affirmations in your real estate office before you start your day.
You then walk out of your private office, walk down the hallway to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee, before you get on the phone. There in the kitchen you hear two agents complaining about the market. Complainer Charles is whining about not having buyers and people not coming to his open house yesterday. Negative Nelly is complaining about her sellers on one of her listings won’t lower their price. She is also complaining about the bank not responding on another listing that is a short sale.
You probably need to head back into your office now. Finish reading Crush It! and do some more affirmations.
I know you can’t avoid Complainer Charles and Negative Nelly. They are in every real estate office. Every industry. Every walk of life. But there are also people like my coaching clients, Levi and Carol.
Find real estate agents like this in your office, or even in your market place, or even online. Start a mastermind. Have coffee with these people. Surround yourself with their energy. Listen to their success stories. Make having an environment of positive people a top priority in your business. In your life.
