Virtual Real Estate Office – Matt and Darin Show

We didn’t have any guests on the Matt and Darin Show this week, but we talked about how real estate agents could work from a virtual real estate office.

Matt was hanging out in Bryant Park, New York City this week. I had just gotten back from a trip to Phoenix for some events down there. My home base is in Seattle and his is in New York. We are never in the same room for the podcast. We thought it would be a great time to talk about how a real estate agent can start to bring their costs down and be more effective by having a virtual real estate office.

What do you think?

Can a real estate agent succeed with out a bricks and mortar real estate office?

Is the bricks and mortar real estate office dead?

Interesting conversation. Matt got a little crazy talking about granite countertops, but reasonably good points for the most part. As an owner of a brokerage, I’ve been kicking around all sorts of ideas for serving our clients and brokers the way they need to be served in the current market and looking forward. The traditional brokerage needs to change, there’s no doubt…
In my opinion, our agents don’t believe that they are paying for the space. The office, desk and a chair are the smallest reasons to be at our company.
Matt – just a suggestion, try to limit the number of times you say, “let’s be honest.”
